Coined the Renaissance Man of Gospel by Dr. Bobby Jones, of Bobby Jones Gospel on BET, DeWayne Harvey makes his triumphant return to Gospel Music through the release of his first solo project, DeWayne Harvey & Friends, “What The Lord Allows”. The first single from the album, “What The Lord Allows” features Grammy, Dove, and Stellar Award winning artist, Fred Hammond. Fred Hammond recently had a number one Gospel hit with “Alright” and is known for his countless hits as a solo artist and for being one of the founding members of the iconic gospel group Commissioned. 
The song “What The Lord Allows” is an upbeat groovy song, written and produced, by DeWayne Harvey and is destined to be a gospel staple, and loved for many generations to come. The single was leaked to YouTube and in the first 60 days without any publicity garnered over 300 K views, as it encourages the listener to understand that whatever the lord allows in their lives is still working for their good, one just has to trust God through the process. The lyric video of the song boasts over 900 K views to date. The song is so popular, in the state of Florida, that several radio stations, grabbed the song from YouTube and started to play this hit. Fred Hammond said, “DeWayne, radio is going to love this one, it’s a great song and it is very declarative, and it is what the world needs right now.” Pastor Angela Spivey, declared as only she can, “It’s a Hit my brother, and it speaks to today’s issues and how we navigate through them on purpose, knowing God is on our side”.

This new album is a collection of 8 songs all written and produced by DeWayne Harvey for Innovative Records. The songs are all co-produced by Etienne Porter (EJ), and on three of the tracks Antonio Wimberly joins in on the production team. DeWayne states that this album is unlike the previous bodies of work he has been associated with. He said, the previous albums of Unrestrained Praise and the Greater Blessings Praise Team were written with groups in mind and stayed close to the traditional gospel sound that people had become accustomed to hearing. However, this album is ultra-contemporary and even urban with heavy influences from R&B Music. The new album includes additional tracks such as “So Much I Can Do” which will feature Kelante Gavin, “Ever Really Wonder”, “Like Mike”, “Love Me Again” and “Father He Knows” just to name a few.

 DeWayne Harvey is an inductee in the Florida Gospel Music Hall of Fame for his previous body of work as a singer, songwriter and producer. DeWayne is known for the groups, DeWayne Harvey & Unrestrained Praise, and Pastor DeWayne Harvey & the Greater Blessings Praise Team. DeWayne Harvey & Unrestrained Praise were known for such hits as “Tell It”, “I Can See My Storm”, “Shine A Lil Light”, “Keep Looking Up” and “God Will Deliver “. While The Greater Blessings Praise Team is known for the Album “The Report of The Lord” which produced such hits as “Whose Report”, “Celebrate”, “All To Him” and “So Great”. The Report of the Lord gave DeWayne Harvey his first billboard hit, with the album peaking at number 16 on the Top Gospel Albums Chart.

Most notably, DeWayne has written and produced music for Angela Spivey and Stellar Award Winner Dorothy Norwood. DeWayne Harvey for Innovative Records was the label, producer, and song writer behind Angela Spivey’s 2014, solo project, He Keeps His Promise. With this album, Angela Spivey, peaked at #14 on Billboards Top Gospel Albums Chart, peaked on Billboards Hot Gospel Chart at #16, and peaked at #16 on Billboards Gospel Airplay Chart. This album also garnered Angela Spivey & The Greater Blessings Praise Team and Innovative Records two Stellar Nominations.

 DeWayne says, this new solo project is full of surprises. Through this project he will get to introduce some very talented young artists who have bright careers. These artist’s include Jasmin McClover who joins him on three tracks “Ever Really Wonder”, “Like Mike”, and “Father He Knows”, Alyssa White who joins him on “Love Me Again” and Raleigh Mosley, who also adds his vocals to “Father He Knows”. This is also the first release for his Innovative Records Label since 2015, but to make up for lost time, the record company will be dropping two additional new artists, Anita Franklin’s “Because of You”  in April 2021, which DeWayne is featured on and Jasmin McClover’s, Just Jazz in October 2021.

 DeWayne Harvey began his musical career in 1970 at 3 years old, when his mother said as a child, he had to sing in the adult choir at Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church. Dorothy Ford stated, my son, had to have the same outfit that the choir had on and if we had robes, he had to have one made just like us. She says music was definitely in his heart.

 DeWayne comes from a singing family, as his mom and his aunts had a group called the Harvey Sisters and his uncles had a quartet singing group as well. Soon after DeWayne Harvey formed the group, DeWayne Harvey & Unrestrained Praise, his family members joined the group and added their rich vocals to his unique sound. DeWayne credits his love for gospel music to his Aunt Olivia Harvey, who taught and nurtured his gift from an early age.

 Although the DeWayne Harvey and Friends project is DeWayne’s first solo project, DeWayne is no stranger to the gospel music arena. He has had the awesome opportunity to share the stage with Vickie Winans, Dorinda Clark Cole, Dorothy Norwood, Byron Cage, Daryl Cooley, Jekalyn Carr, J.J. Hariston and Youthful Praise, Mali Music, and so many others. DeWayne says, over the years he was inspired by such artists as Andre Crouch, Walter Hawkins, Donald Lawrence, Shirley Caesar, Albertina Walker, Joe Legon, Harvey Watkins, The Winans and Commissioned. DeWayne Harvey credits much of his success to Bishop Leonard Scott, Pastor Bryant Scott, AL the Bishop Hobbs, and most of all to Dr. Bobby Jones & BET for giving him a musical platform. DeWayne made a total of 4 appearances on BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, numerous appearances at the Gospel Music Workshop of America, The Thomas Dorsey Convention, and performed at the Stellar Awards.

 DeWayne Harvey is not only a recording artist, producer, and label executive but he also serves as the CEO of Innovative Health Care Management Services, Inc. which for years owned and operated nursing homes, assisted living facilities, independent living facilities, and rehab clinics. DeWayne is also the Pastor of a thriving church in Tallahassee, Florida known as the Greater Blessings Tabernacle of Praise.

 Dr. Harvey is professionally trained as a Health Care Administrator, a nurse, a professional guardian, a community association manager, and a grant writer. Dr. Harvey holds several degrees including an Associate Degree in Registered Nursing, a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting, a master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care Management,  and a Doctorate Degree in Health Administration. Dr. Harvey is the founder of the Innovative School of Health, which specializes in training Certified Nursing Assistants.
